FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE MALAYSIA(FRIM)

Assalammualaikum... Today is Saturday... 12 FEBRUARY 2011.. Supposedly, i have a class "Parenting"..nak jadi bapa kan, kena la ambik kelas ni...hahaha.... dah 3 kali ponteng kelas ni...bukan saya suka2 ponteng ek... ponteng bersebab....

Today, we have a rehlah "trip" to FRIM organized by Titian wahyu club... programe manager is Tahir....hehehhehe... Before that, can i write it in english???? even though my english still in the medium level... i think.... ada reason saya nak tulis dalam BI, nak promote la FRIM ni kat foreigner....hehehe

Before we dwelt on on this post, let's me write something basic about FRIM.
Forest Research Institute Malaysia is located at Kepong, Selangor Darul Ehsan.. FRIM is an institute that doing a research and preserving the forest (everything about forest la.)  If i am not mistaken, the establishment of the FRIM was on the year 1929...(sory.. i do not know exact date and year)

Based on explanation given by Bro Faisal, our tourist guide, he said that, FRIM is an institute that mostly concern on natural ecosystem... Basically, what they do in the FRIM is a research about trees from A to Z... From root until its top (in malay, we called pucuk)... I had a little conversation with him, and surprisingly, he is a lecturer who teaching business at somewhere that i cant recall...hhehehehe... He has been worked as a part time worker at FRIM for almost 8 years... wow... quite shocked... He said that he love nature very much..hehehhe... He is quite good actually..

This rehlah was organized by Titian Wahyu Club, in this rehlah, we did do many awesome activities and i am quite enjoy it... ah, two foreign students had attend or joined this program.. Omar and Husain whom are from Yemen.... For me, they are a quick learner... they can grab or understand malay language easily...congrat to them....

We have some module in the around 9 a.m, which conducted by Aiman.... it was a good module, coz it is easy, yet, interesting.... Good job Aiman.... After the module, we had our breakfast and get ready for jungle tracking...hahahha... this is the best part... there are new info waiting for us...

Jungle tracking... even though it just took a short amount of time, but, i learned a lot from this activities... about the herbs, about the nature and many more... before we went into jungle, we visited the museum, it quite fascinating, i wish i have plenty time to spend at the museum... there are things that i wanna see, but, do not have a chance...

we spent about 10 minutes in this museum, then we step on the jungle...

The first lesson we learned is about the Myanmar bamboo( nickname).... the weird thing about this bamboo is, it will produce a flower in 60 until 100 years period(i forgot bout the exact period..sorry).. first, the bamboo grows, then it will experience the situation of being stress, as human do... soon, it will produce a flowers like orchid and then dies... it is quite a sad story about this bamboo..however, it does a great job by creating something beautiful as orchid before it ends of the life... Allah"s creation is totally magnificent.....  (for the picture, i took it from this site, since i did not take a picture of the bamboo...http://cavingliz.multiply.com/photos/photo/175/3)

Then, we met up with Tongkat Ali(malay viagra) tree and Kacip Fatimah tree....
tongkat ali, the straight one ek... there is a special way how to pick it..hehhehe...go and learned man....
this is kacip fatimah...if i am wrong, correct me ek...
i do not want to talk more about this plants, coz i think, everyone already familiar with this herb...hehehhehe

Then, we continued walking and seeing the nature, Bro Faisal also showed us an elephant tree, which i will upload the pic later... we moved to a plant that called as Tembaga Suasa.. this plant is a compulsory plant for everyone who loved being in jungle... the function of this plant is to stop the bleeding... How???? As explained by Bro Faisal, u take the leaf,  and put some oil, whether (minyak gamat or minyak masak,n lain2 minyak), u burned it with fire until u see the moisture and put the leaf at the bleeding area.... if God's willing, the blood will stop... Another great creation of God....
this is tembaga suasa....

then we spent our time by looking at pokok kapur, the tree that does not touch each other... that tree possesses some kind of  positive and negative relationship....hahahah....here is the pic:
this is the view of the tree that does not touch each other..(picture is credited to this site, http://cavingliz.multiply.com/photos/photo/175/14 , since my 2MP camera cannot perform as this pic)

and we also learned about the rule of jungle and the rule of mushroom.... the rule of jungle, one of them i would say, is if there is a wild boar, u have three choices....
1) u run in zig zag direction
2) u stay there(as u are standing still) and shout
3) u run and climb the tree...

for the rule of mushroom, the darker the colour of the mushroom, it means it is a poisonous mushroom...

i think, that all from me... a brief update....hehehhe... and a big thanks to all who has participated in this programme... to management board, whom spent their time with us, to participants who like to sacrifices their time to be with us and lastly, to the EU members, whom has sacrifices their time, energy and etc,,,.... thanks guys...and for the pics, credited to my lg c 305... even though it just 2MP, but, ok la dude...hehhee

here are the random pics from me....

this is Sarang Anai-Anai.... weird ek....hehehhe.. it looks like a tomb

this lizard stay still when i took it... quite cute eh???

hhehehhe

this is an elephant tree... i think my hand was shaking..that's why the pic kinda blurred..
